Christine O’Hara Honored at Leadership Niagara’s Annual Awards Luncheon

Christine S. O’Hara, ’88, ’06, Niagara University’s Director of Annual Giving, was recognized as Leadership Niagara’s Distinguished Alumna at the organization’s Leader of the Year Annual Awards Luncheon on April 28 at the Niagara Falls Country Club.

Geoffrey Redick, a senior communication studies major at NU, served as emcee of the event.

“On behalf of Niagara University’s Institutional Advancement Office, I would like to congratulate Chris on this well-deserved award,” said Donald P. Bielecki, the university’s vice president for institutional advancement. “Over the course of many years, Chris has proven herself to be a leader in every sense of the word, both at Niagara University and in the Greater Niagara community.”

O’Hara, who possesses a master of science in educational leadership and administration from Niagara University, joined the staff of her alma mater in April 2002 after spending four years as the director of development and alumni relations at Niagara Catholic High School. In addition to her role as director of annual giving at the university, O’Hara is also the executive director of the John Lynch Society, a leadership gift club that was established in honor of Father John J. Lynch, the Vincentian priest who founded Niagara University.

A 1992 graduate of Leadership Niagara, O’Hara is a past chair and current member of the organization’s Board of Directors.

Since its founding 27 years ago, Leadership Niagara has cultivated over 1,000 community leaders through its adult and youth leadership programs and has become a trusted resource in developing leaders and building community.
