Gift baskets for the fundraiser were collected at Niagara University's Kiernan Center.
On Aug. 22, Niagara University helped stage a benefit event for alumna Jennie Cyran, ’07, at the Hyde Park Oasis shelter in Niagara Falls. Thanks to a plentiful basket auction and very generous donations, the event was a wonderful success in raising much-needed funds for Cyran, who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. The disease has affected her ability to walk without assistive devices.
Cyran has worked with many children coaching swim, basketball and softball. She has been involved in Niagara University’s Summer Youth Camp for the past 11 years and is currently teaching special education in the Niagara Falls City School District.
