Niagara University theatre students were treated to a workshop with famed puppeteer Mike Peterson.

Niagara University theatre students were treated to a puppetry workshop April 8 featuring special guest artist Mike Peterson.

Peterson regaled NU students with stories derived from a lifetime’s worth of prominent puppetry experience, including work on Jim Henson’s Fraggle Rock and Labyrinth with David Bowie and George Lucas. Other credits include Audrey II in three Canadian theatre productions of Little Shop of Horrors, Bruce the Gorilla in Halifax Film’s Gemini Award-winning preschool series The Mighty Jungle, and Binoo in Toopy and Binoo Vroom Vroom Zoom!

The students are part of a physical theatre course that explores the practical study of visual character development.

Niagara University offers BFA programs in three concentrations: performancedesign and production, and theatre specializations. To learn more, please visit www.niagara.edu/theatre.
