The Most Rev. Richard J. Malone, bishop of Buffalo, was at Niagara University with Daybreak Television Productions on Tuesday to record an episode of Campus Chat with Bishop Richard J. Malone, a 30-minute program that allows college students to engage with Buffalo’s spiritual leader on issues of faith and society that are relevant to young adults.
After trading pleasantries with students in the Gallagher Center, Bishop Malone engaged on camera with approximately 20 NU students on topics that included Catholic and Vincentian higher education, church affiliations among young adults, evangelism, suffering, gluten-free hosts, gun violence and recent school shootings, balance of faith and reason in seeking truth, and outreach to neighbors in need.

“We received a warm welcome and sense of excitement from Niagara University,” said Claire Rung, executive producer of Daybreak Television Productions. “Recording Campus Chat was great fun for us. The Castellani Art Museum was a beautiful setting and the students were amazing – open, genuine and an excellent example of hope for the future. Bishop Richard Malone was clearly impressed by the questions the Niagara students asked. We can’t wait to put this show together!”
The show will air sometime in April or May on WKBW-TV Channel 7, the local ABC affiliate.
