Senior nursing students volunteering at Heart, Love, and Soul of Niagara Falls.

Niagara University provides nursing students with essential skills to be effective leaders in the healthcare field. Niagara has well-established ties with several community organizations, which allow nursing students to develop their skills beyond the classroom.

Nursing students at Niagara University benefit from numerous community collaborations and connections, including:

  • Training with Heart, Love, and Soul of Niagara Falls to increase awareness of community needs and to promote heart health within the community.

  • Participating in respite care experiences and providing nursing care to children through Cradle Beach services.

  • Taking part in Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training, alongside local health care partners.

  • Engaging with community organizations, such as the Family Justice Center on Grand Island, through donation drives.

These community collaborations, among others, provide our nursing students with hands-on learning opportunities that allow them to take knowledge learned in the classroom and connect it to real world situations and experiences. The combination of the nursing curriculum and working with community partners helps prepare Niagara nursing students for a career as a professional nurse that they can take on with confidence.
