Dr. Caitlin Riegel and Dr. Danielle Weinstein presented their research at the Association of Teacher Educators Conference March 25-29, 2023.

Dr. Caitlin Riegel, assistant professor of education at Niagara University, presented her research on “Technology Implementation Classrooms: The Need for National Technology Standards” at the Association of Teacher Educators Conference in Jacksonville, Fla., March 25-29, 2023.

Her research was performed and presented with Dr. Danielle Weinstein, a biology teacher at Don Antonio Lugo High School in Chino Valley Unified School District, Calif.

The project is a continuation of research performed individually by the two professors using the Teacher Preparation Technology Inventory, an instrument developed by Dr. Riegel to evaluate teacher educator preparation to meet Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation technology standards.

“We propose change on a national scale related to educational technology accountability to ensure high-quality technology education so students are ready to compete in the global economy,” said Dr. Riegel.

The ATE, as an individual membership organization, promotes quality teacher education through both exemplary clinical practice and research.
