Dr. Shawn Daly, Niagara University professor of marketing and international business and director of student global experience in the Holzchuh College of Business Administration, was a featured presenter at eLearning Africa, the 17th International Conference & Exhibition on Digital Education, Training & Skills Development, May 29-31, 2024, in Rwanda. Co-hosted by the Ministry of Education of Rwanda and the Rwanda Convention Bureau, this flagship event brought together more than 1,200 international participants from across the public and private sectors.

Dr. Daly was one of four panelists who discussed the role of AI in revolutionizing African business education and its transformative impact on personalizing learning experiences and aligning education with the rapidly changing business world. The session, “AI in African Education: Elevating Learning and Bridging Gender Gaps,” also explored AI's critical role in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in education, with a particular emphasis on promoting gender inclusivity.

In addition to Dr. Daly, prominent Rwandan business, government, and NGO representatives were part of the panel, including Agnes Nyirankira, CEO of Business Continuity Plan Ltd. and BCP Investment Managers Fund Ltd.; and Blair Robert Ayesiga, director for social and economic policy at the Institute for Social Policy in Africa. The panel was moderated by  Tanzanian engineer, academician, and politician Silas Lwakabamba, a regional managing director of Coventry University African Hub and former Minister of Infrastructure and Minister of Education in Rwanda.

Launched in 2005, eLearning Africa is the leading pan-African conference and exhibition focused on developing education, training, and skills through technology. The annual event promotes knowledge sharing and facilitates networking among professionals embracing information and communication technologies for economic growth and social development.

Dr. Daly has lectured extensively and appeared on national news programs concerning the use of AI, medical tourism, and B2B marketing. He is the recipient of two Fulbright awards and has been involved in numerous international development projects, providing expertise in business, marketing, and engineering in Rwanda, Guyana, and Ethiopia.
