MarCe Zerrate, founder and executive director of Amor and Heritage, shares her Colombian culture on Oct. 10, 2019, as part of the Diversity Topic Thursday series of presentations sponsored by Niagara University’s Office of Multicultural Affairs. Zerrate, who was born in Colombia and moved to the United States in 1998, established Amor and Heritage to promote diversity, multiculturalism, and kindness through dance. Here, she explains the symbolism of her costume and demonstrates a dance that tells the story of a native Colombian woman and a West African man who fell in love.
