Liam Cuddy, a communications studies major with minors in philosophy, film, and writing, was awarded the Niagara Medal at Niagara University’s undergraduate commencement ceremonies, which were held virtually on Sunday, July 26, 2020. The Auburn, N.Y., native was selected for the honor by his peers.

Cuddy, a cum laude graduate, was also the recipient of the Niagara University Integrity Award, the Brian Murphy Memorial Award for Excellence in Communications Studies, and was named Community Advisor of the Year.

Cuddy served as a lead community advisor for residence life and was the hard news editor for The Wire, Niagara University’s student newspaper. He also completed an internship with the communications, marketing, and PR departments at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, during which he produced three commercials promoting the importance of NFMMC’s imaging department. During his freshman and sophomore years, he worked on the Ridge Report, a student-run newscast. His post-graduation plans include pursuing his Ph.D.
