Students from Niagara University’s Social Justice houses hosted an event on Oct. 16, 2020, to express their appreciation for employees of NU Facility Services, Metz Culinary Management, UG2, and Elbers Landscape Service. The event featured a blessing read by Moira Werner, reflections by Matthew McKenzie, and presentations by Niagara University Student Government Association president Lawson Castaldo and parliamentarian Gigi Ortiz. Employees were also treated to Chiavetta’s chicken and given “swag bags” with T-shirts and hats.

“We organized this to recognize (their) hard work, especially during this time,” said McKenzie, who planned the event with fellow students Michela Rossetti and Katrina Giordano. “They work to keep us safe and happy, and they more than deserve a day where people recognize how much they do.”
