Niagara University has taken another step toward becoming the premier binational university within the Province of Ontario with the addition of three new programs. Starting now, students can enroll in Niagara’s Master of Business Administration program, while master’s degree programs in information security and digital forensics and in finance are slated to start in the fall.

The Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in Finance programs are offered through Niagara University’s AACSB-accredited College of Business Administration and provide students with rigorous, advanced study in the areas of corporate finance, investments, financial planning, and business administration. Fewer than 5% of business programs around the world hold this prestigious accreditation that speaks to an institution’s commitment of high-quality curriculum, faculty, and facilities. Niagara University is proud to include itself among this elite group.

This expansion aligns with the university’s strategic plan and continues the vision of the Rev. James J. Maher, C.M., Niagara University president, to build upon the university’s more than 35-year legacy in the region.

“Our founders, the Rev. John Lynch and the Rev. John Timon, conceived Niagara University as a binational institution serving the region from Buffalo to Toronto,” Father Maher said. “The addition of three new programs in our Vaughan, Ontario, site, continues this legacy by making our exceptional academic offerings available to an increased number of students. These programs are diverse, inclusive, and values-based, preparing graduates to be global citizens who make a positive impact in their communities across the region, the country, and the world.”

Niagara University celebrated the one-year anniversary of its permanent location in the Vaughan Metropolitan Center this month, where more than 300 students are currently enrolled in its Ontario College of Teachers-accredited Bachelor of Professional Studies in Education program, and in its Master of Science in Educational Leadership program.

The MBA program is comprised of 51 graduate credit hours, which include six prerequisite courses for non-business majors, six core courses, one advised elective, and three courses in the chosen concentration area. During the final semester of study, all students are required to complete a capstone course.

The master’s degree in finance program requires completion of seven required classes, which provide a thorough foundation in the field of finance, in addition to five electives from two separate tracks, which students can select based on their desired career paths. As part of the curriculum, students have access to advanced analytical tools and software, as well as financial databases found in the workplace.

Niagara’s Master of Science in Information Security and Digital Forensics program is designed to prepare students and working professionals for an exciting and rewarding career in cybersecurity, both in government and in private business. The 36-credit-hour program consists of 12 courses. Using professional applications in computer and mobile forensics, students gain knowledge and expertise in network security, ethical hacking, and privacy, preparing them for certification as systems security management professionals and access data certified computer forensics investigators.

All classes are offered in Canada and are taught by highly qualified faculty with industry experience. The programs can be completed over four full-time semesters, with courses scheduled on evenings and weekends for the convenience of working professionals.

To help potential students learn more about the new master’s degree programs, Niagara University in Ontario has scheduled several events on Thursday evenings throughout coming months: Jan. 23, Feb. 6, Feb. 13, March 12, and April 23. All sessions will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at its Vaughan location, 2904 Highway 7, Vaughan Ontario, L4K 0K4.
