Niagara University is organizing an end-of-year community garage sale for the fifth consecutive year. The public event will take place in the Kiernan Center on Wednesday, May 17, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and Thursday, May 18, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Instituted by members of NU’s Vincentian Mission Certificate program, “2 Good 2 Toss” is a service project that invites all NU students (and employees) to donate items that are clean and in good condition, rather than toss them into dumpsters or leave them behind as the rush to summer break begins.

Items for sale may include small appliances such as toasters and microwaves, as well as mirrors, lamps, chairs, rugs, electrical equipment, books, and small refrigerators.

All proceeds benefit Niagara University’s Office of Campus Ministry and the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Unsold items in good condition will be donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store.

The initiative has raised nearly $7,500 since being instituted.

Niagara University students may donate items between May 1-14 in the lobbies of O’Shea, Seton and Clet halls, or in one of several storage pods situated around campus.

Please note that we cannot accept pillows, mattresses, open food, broken or soiled items or undergarments.

In addition, a hot dog sale to benefit the cause will be held at the Kiernan Center on Thursday, May 18, from 12-1 p.m.

The university is accepting and selling donated goods for this charity event and is not responsible for the condition of items purchased. Thank you for your understanding!
