Niagara University offers students the best return on their investment among private colleges and universities in Western New York, according to Money magazine. Niagara was the highest-ranked private college or university in the area in the magazine’s “2020 Best Colleges” study, which evaluated 739 schools on 27 measures of educational quality, affordability, and graduate outcomes. This year’s ranking reflects an increased focus on affordability, which accounts for 40% of the ranking.
To determine which schools successfully combine quality and affordability, Money weighed more than 20,000 data points, judging colleges on how much families really pay after financial aid, how many students go on to graduate, and how well those graduates fare in the workplace according to salary data collected by PayScale.com. Factors such as the quality of the instructors also are considered.
Currently, 98% of Niagara's students receive some type of financial assistance, which includes scholarships, grants, student employment, and other programs that make a Niagara education affordable.
