More than 400 job seekers connected with nearly 100 employers—34 of whom were Niagara University alumni—at Niagara University’s annual Career Expo on March 20. The recruiters, who were looking to fill internships, part-time, full-time, and seasonal opportunities, represented a wide variety of industries.

Businesses, including American Niagara Hospitality, Buffalo Sabres, Catholic Health, Chiampou Travis Besaw & Kershner LLP, Citi, Delaware North,  Hyatt Hotels Corp., Lumsden McCormick CPA,  M&T Bank, Merani Hotel Group,  Montante Group, National Fuel, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, Rich Products Corp., and Perry's Ice Cream Company, Inc., came to campus to meet students and alumni at the event, which is organized by the Niagara University Gacioch Center for Career & Professional Development. In addition to learning of employment opportunities, students were also able to have professional photos taken for their LinkedIn profiles.

“Attending the Career Expo, or any other similar event, not only is important for students to identify potential internship and career opportunities, but also helps them gain confidence in facilitating networking conversations,” said Stephanie Morris, executive director of Career Services. “Each year, we have students report that they located their internships and jobs through the connections they made at Career Expo.”

Prior to the expo, students worked with Career Services to develop resumes, cover letters, and to prepare for networking with the recruiters.
