Steve Braddock, director of Niagara University Theatre, and Dr. Sharon Watkinson, chair of NU’s theatre department, were recently in New York City to support the opening of acclaimed composer John Kander’s new musical, Kid Victory.

Kander is a longtime friend of Niagara University Theatre. The Broadway legend received an honorary doctorate from NU in 1994 to complement his numerous Tony, Emmy and Grammy awards. He attended the Friends of Niagara University Theatre Gala in 2014 and previously contributed to the renovation of William P. and Marie Leary Theatre.

Kander is best known for his work with Fred Ebb, the legendary songwriting team that produced Cabaret, Woman of the Year, The Act and Chicago.

Kid Victory is billed as a hauntingly mesmerizing new musical about breaking out and breaking through. Additional information can be found at www.vineyardtheatre.org/kid-victory.
