Mistaken identity and lonely-hearts correspondence with a touch of old world elegance!
The Tony Award winning musical She Loves Me is performed on the Leary stage Nov. 30-Dec. 10. With a book by Joe Masterhoff, music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and directed by associate professor Doug Zschiegner, feuding employees in a Budapest perfumery despise each other at work but find solace from their solitude in romantic pen pal exchanges. The surprises stack up when the romantic puzzle pieces finally fit together.
She Loves Me will be on stage in the Leary Theatre within the Elizabeth Ann Clune Center for Theatre, Clet Hall, at 7 p.m. on Nov 30. and Dec 7. The musical will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Dec 1, 2 and 8. In addition, 2 p.m. matinees will be held on Dec 2, 3 (with post-show discussion) and 10.
Music direction is by assistant professor Dr. Bridget Moriarty and choreography by associate professor Terri Filips Vaughan. Costume, hair and makeup design is by Maureen T. Stevens, associate professor. Light design is by Patty Rihn, and sound design is by adjunct faculty member Glenn Bernardis. Set design is by associate professor David Dwyer. Stage manager is theatre design/production major Jordan Grimble of Albion, N.Y. Assistant stage managers are theatre performance major Danni Cooke of West Seneca, N.Y., and design/production major Gianna Lopez of Youngstown, N.Y.
