Niagara University’s Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice held an open house on March 20 at the university’s Vaughan campus to highlight its master’s degree program in criminal justice administration.

The event brought together prospective students, alumni, and local community agencies, and featured Dr. Tim Ireland, provost and vice president of Academic Affairs; Dr. Dave Taylor, director of the program in Vaughan; Dr. Natalie Snow, assistant professor; and Dr. Talia Harmon, department chair, who shared insights into the program’s curriculum, research opportunities, and career pathways. Attendees also had the chance to hear from current students, who provided firsthand perspectives on their experiences within the program.

“The open house served as a valuable networking opportunity, fostering connections between students, professionals, and community partners while highlighting the department’s commitment to excellence in criminology and criminal justice education,” said Dr. Harmon.

The master’s program in criminal justice administration is ideal for individuals looking to break into the field of criminal justice, as well as individuals seeking career advancement within these fields. It can be completed in two years and offers a flexible schedule that includes on-campus, online, hybrid, and weekend course offerings.

Faculty are nationally and internationally recognized for their research and specialize in a variety of relevant criminal justice topics, such as court systems, capital punishment and wrongful convictions, law enforcement, religiosity and crime, and victimization. They work collaboratively with numerous local, provincial, and federal agencies and organizations, which provides students with unique research and internship opportunities.
