Terri Filips-Vaughan, chair of NU's theatre and fine arts department, was recognized with the Art Award by the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier.

Three members of the Niagara University community were among those honored by the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier at its “Niagara Awards: A Tribute to Women” dinner on Sept. 24, 2019.

Kathleen Neville, M.A.’15, a member of Niagara University’s Board of Trustees, received the Entrepreneur Award, while Terri Filips-Vaughan, chair of the theatre and fine arts department, was recognized with the Art Award, and Patricia Shea, ’88, nurse practitioner for the NU women’s basketball team, received the Health and Human Services Award.

The Niagara Awards were established to publicly recognize and honor women who make significant contributions to the Niagara and Erie communities specific to the YWCA’s mission of empowering women, eliminating racism, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
