Three Accounting students received awards at the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), Buffalo Chapter, annual Education Night dinner held at Buffalo RiverWorks on April 25, 2023.
The NYSSCPA Education Night dinner is held to honor the outstanding junior, senior and graduate accounting students in local Buffalo colleges and universities. It also provides an opportunity where educators, students and practitioners can come together to meet and mingle.
Dr. Ian Burt, assistant professor of accounting and accounting dept. chair attended the event and expressed his congratulations to the following Niagara accounting students.
William Micallef received the NYSSCPA Award of Honor as the graduate student for outstanding achievements in accounting studies. He will be graduating this May with a Master of Business Administration in Accounting. He was born and raised in Queens, NY. He has accepted a full time position with Ernst & Young as a Tax associate.
Adam Juzwick received the NYSSCPA Award of Honor as the senior student for outstanding achievements in accounting studies. He plans on graduating in fall 2023 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a minor in Spanish. He is the Vice President of Beta Alpha Psi honor society and studied abroad in Barcelona, Spain during the fall 2022 semester. This summer, he will be interning for the firm PBMares, LLP as a tax accountant.
Hayley Berner received the John T. Kennedy Memorial Award as the junior student with the highest overall scholastic average in accounting. She is a member of several honor societies including Beta Alpha Psi, Beta Gamma Sigma and Delta Epsilon Sigma. She plans to graduate in Spring 2024 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.
