The Rose Bente Lee Ostapenko Center for Ethics in Medicine and Healthcare launched on Oct. 1, at Niagara University in Ontario. This addition to the Vaughan campus builds on the already existing center on the main campus. The new center allows Vaughan students to develop their understanding of ethical issues and challenges in medicine and healthcare.
At he launch of the center, Dr. Arrani Senthinathan welcomed and introduced guest speaker Dr. Debby Danard, Anishinaabe Knowledge Education & Life Promotion Ambassador, whose presentation, “The Sweetgrass Braid: 21 Strands of Relationality, “explored ethical space, relationality, and the meeting of Indigenous and Western worldviews. Organization of guest speakers, events, and conferences is one of the center’s guiding goals.
The Rose Bente Lee Ostapenko Center for Ethics in Medicine and Healthcare has served as the foundation of ethics in medicince and healthcare for Niagara University students on our main campus, and this foundation is now laid for students at the Vaughan campus or Niagara University in Ontario.
