Niagara University Receives $1 Million in Federal Funding to Create Nursing Center for Innovation and Learning

Niagara University has received a $1 million federal grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration that will fund the renovation of a campus building to create an innovative hub for students in the university’s College of Nursing. The funding was secured by U.S. Senator Charles Schumer.

Two Niagara University Nursing Students Selected to Present Research at National Conference

Two Niagara University nursing seniors were among a select few—and the first from NU—to be chosen to present their research at the 73rd annual National Student Nurses Conference, April 9-13 in Seattle, Wash. Only  25 student and faculty posters were chosen to be presented during the conference, which is attended by more than 3,000 nursing students.

Niagara University Receives Official Designation as National Security Agency Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense

Dr. Petter Lovaas, Niagara University’s chief information security officer and chair of the Department of Cyber Security & Operations, and Dr. Timothy Ireland, provost and vice president of academic affairs, accepted the university’s official designation as a National Security Agency Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense on April 9.

Niagara University Students Learn About Lobbying During Trip to Washington, D.C.

More than 30 Niagara University students learned about effective lobbying during the Ostapenko Center’s annual political advocacy trip to Washington, D.C., March 30-April 1, 2025. The students were members of the university’s Black Student Union, Latinos Unidos, and the Social Work Student Association.
