Three Students Recognized for Research on Critical Women’s and Gender Issues

Niagara University’s women’s studies program honored three students for their work examining women, gender, or feminist issues at its annual awards ceremony on March 19, 2024. Established in 2004, the award contest, which typically honors research papers, was enhanced this year with the addition of a creative entities contest.

Niagara University’s Club Management Association of America Student Chapter Named Number One

Niagara University’s student chapter of the Club Management Association of America was named Student Chapter of the Year by the association at its 2024 World Conference and Club Business Expo, held March 4-8 in Las Vegas. This is the 13th time in its 15-year history that the chapter has been recognized as the top medium-sized chapter in the country.

Niagara University College of Education faculty Dr. Kathleen McGrath and Dr. Caitlin Riegel co-published an article with NU alumna Rosina Mete, '13, Ph.D.’18, a registered psychotherapist and director of faculty at Yorkville University, in the annual journal published by the Association of Independent Liberal Arts Colleges for Teacher Education.

Dr. Ashleigh Molloy Honored for Exceptional Volunteer Service by University of Toronto

Dr. Ashleigh Molloy, an adjunct professor at Niagara University in Ontario, was one of three individuals recognized by the University of Toronto’s Ontario Institute for Studies in Education with its highest honor, the Arbor Award,for his exceptional and longstanding volunteer service. He received the award during a luncheon in January 2024.

Father Maher Again Named Among the Most Influential People in Western New York

The Rev. James J. Maher, C.M., president of Niagara University, is once again recognized as one of the region’s most influential leaders by Buffalo Business First. Father Maher is listed at No. 95 in the weekly newspaper’s annual “Power 250,” a list of the 250 men and women who aim to make changes and improvements in the eight-county Buffalo region. This is the 11th consecutive year Father Maher has been named to the list.
