Niagara University Students Participate in 2023 College Fed Challenge

Four Niagara University students from the Holzschuh College of Business Administration competed against their peers from more than 100 colleges and universities across the United States in the 2023 College Fed Challenge, an annual competition hosted by the Federal Reserve System’s board of governors and the Federal Reserve Banks.

Two Niagara University Environmental Science Majors Receive Research Grants

Samantha Wrobel, a junior environmental science major from Amherst, N.Y., and Bethany Mangioni, a junior environmental science major from Cheektowaga, N.Y., were two of the nine students chosen to receive research grants from the Rochester Academy of Science. The students were selected based on the scientific merit of their research and the quality of their grant proposals.

Niagara University Students Learn About the Plight of Migrants During Vincentian Immersion Program

On a cold and windy Tuesday evening in January, five students from Niagara University served chicken, cauliflower, salad, bread, cookies, and muffins to migrants and refugees at Holy Family Refugee Center, located just a few steps from the Mexican border in El Paso, Texas.

Niagara University Accounting Students Offering Free Tax Preparation Help

Accounting students from Niagara University’s Holzschuh College of Business Administration and members of its Accounting Society and Beta Alpha Psi will again provide members of the Niagara Falls community free tax preparation assistance through the Internal Revenue Service’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, which offers free tax help for low to moderate income families, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and those with limited English proficiency.

Niagara University Teacher Candidates Gain Intercultural Awareness Through Authorship Project

Niagara University College of Education teacher candidates enrolled in EDU578 and EDU579 during the fall 2023 semester participated in the Authorship Project, an in-depth global exploration of culture and values. As they learned the foundations of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, they also discovered the role multicultural literature plays in instruction and gleaned intercultural awareness, stretching literacy beyond our national borders.
