Dr. Emily Lee-Chong Establishes Chapter within International Honor Society for Professional Counselors

Dr. Emily Lee-Chong, assistant professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling, recently established Nu Zeta, Niagara University’s chapter of Chi Sigma Iota (CSI), the international honor society for professional counselors. CSI promotes excellence in the counseling profession through academic achievement, leadership, advocacy, professional development, and service. Niagara University’s chapter provides students with opportunities to strengthen their professional counselor identity, connect with a community of fellow counselors, and become more involved in the profession.

Dr. Lee-Chong said, “Through Nu Zeta, we hope to create opportunities for leadership, community outreach, advocacy, wellness initiatives, and professional networking. I am excited to bring this organization to Niagara University and build a chapter that fosters professional growth, meaningful connections, and a lasting commitment to the counseling profession.”

Membership also recognizes students’ academic accomplishments and provides the opportunity to wear Chi Sigma Iota honor cords at graduation.

More information on CSI can be found on their website.
