The Niagara University Ontario community is pleased to announce an exciting new chapter in student leadership within the College of Education.
Formerly known as the BPS Student Council, the group has recently undergone a restructuring and will now operate as the NUO College of Education Student Leadership Team (CoESLT). This change reflects the team’s evolving role in fostering student engagement, leadership development, collaboration, and service among education students.
As part of this transition, the CoESLT has unveiled a new logo that embodies the values and mission of Niagara University. Inspired by the University’s mission statement, the logo highlights four core values that guide student leadership within the College of Education. The design features colours that complement Niagara University’s signature purple, while the yellow centre symbolizes opportunity, growth, and the opening of doors toward new possibilities and learning.
NUO’s College of Education Student Leadership Team is supervised by Natalie Davey, PhD, Assistant Professor, and Kimberlee Smith, MScEd, OCT, Faculty Fellow, within the College of Education, and is supported by LeChelle Saunders, MEd, RCIC, Director of Student Experience and Success. Their collective guidance helps foster meaningful leadership experiences and student engagement opportunities across the university community.
The CoESLT is committed to creating opportunities for connection, advocacy, professional growth, and community engagement. Through events, initiatives, and collaborative projects, the team aims to enhance the student experience and foster a strong sense of belonging within the College of Education.
Students are encouraged to watch for upcoming events and opportunities to get involved throughout the academic year as the CoESLT begins this exciting new phase.
