Several members of the Niagara University in Ontario community have contributed to the 2025 issue of the Journal of Classroom Research in Literacy, an online, peer-reviewed publication that highlights research conducted by teacher candidates and teachers.
Dr. Carol Doyle-Jones, academic associate dean and associate professor in the College of Education, served as editor-in-chief, and Laryssa Gorecki, senior lecturer, served as head editor.
Recent graduates from the Bachelor of Professional Studies in Education program also were involved in the production, including Philip Donoghue-Stanford, who served as managing editor, and Michelle Nguyen, Sharon Luo, and Anant Parekh, who shared their work on “Transforming AAPI Heritage Month into Meaningful Learning.”
The articles in the issue illuminate the dynamic ways literacy is lived, taught, and understood, whether through the navigation of ideological divides, the amplification of personal voice, the creative processes of storytelling and play, or the affirmation of identity through inclusive pedagogy, noted Dr. Doyle-Jones.
Submissions for the 2026 issue are being accepted until Nov. 30, 2025, at https://jcrl.library.utoronto.ca/index.php/jcrl/about/submissions.
