Niagara University’s College of Education was recently awarded the prestigious Frank Murray Leadership Recognition for Continuous Improvement by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. It was the only educator preparation provider in New York state to earn the 2025 Murray Recognition.
The recognition is awarded annually to educator preparation providers who achieved accreditation with no stipulations or areas for improvement, by demonstrating strong evidence and data trends. Named after the founding president of the Teacher Education Accreditation Council, the award celebrates Murray’s legacy as a champion for rigorous educator preparation standards and his role in uniting the profession through the creation of CAEP.
Providers selected for recognition advance equity and excellence in educator preparation through purposeful use of self-study procedures and evidence-based reporting that assure quality and support continuous improvement to strengthen P-12 learning.
“CAEP Accreditation is the gold standard for educator preparation, and this recognition is testament to the commitment of our faculty to meet these rigorous national standards,” said Dr. Amy Nwora, dean of Niagara’s College of Education. “We are proud of this honor and our legacy of preparing educators who make a positive and lasting impact on their students.”
