Niagara University Observes Every Child Matters Day with Series of Events

On Monday, Sept. 30, Niagara University will observe Every Child Matters Day, or Orange Shirt Day, with a series of drop-in programs and installations across the campus. These activities and exhibits will provide opportunities for education and reflection about the history and lasting impact of residential schools on Indigenous and First Nations communities.

CAM Director Discusses Educators as CEOs at American Alliance of Museum Annual Meeting

Ellen Owens, director of Niagara University’s Castellani Art Museum, was a featured presenter at the American Alliance of Museum’s 2024 Annual Meeting and Expo May 16-19, in Baltimore, Md., a conference with more than 3,000 museum professionals in attendance. She is one of four educator-CEOs who discussed their experience as leaders in the museum field during a session entitled “Museum Educator to CEO: What We Bring to the C-Suite.”

Castellani Art Museum’s Kids ‘n Arts Summer Camp Celebrates 20 Years of Fostering Creativity and Wellness

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Castellani Art Museum (CAM) Kids 'n Arts Summer Camp. For two decades, this distinctive camp has been a beacon of creativity and health education. As of last year, a new collaboration with the College of Nursing has further enriched this integration of artistic creativity with physical and mental health education, a partnership we are excited to continue.

AI and the Arts

The Castellani Art Museum at Niagara University is hosting a pair of lectures on artificial intelligence and its application in the art world to foster a deep understanding of how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing art creation and marketing. Participants will gain both academic and practical insights into the world of AI-generated artwork, exploring its history, market trends, and overall impact on the art and marketing industries. The presentations are free and open to the public.

Niagara University’s Castellani Art Museum Plans Celestial Celebration

Niagara Falls will be a premier location in which to watch the historic solar eclipse on April 8, and Niagara University will celebrate this extraordinary event with special programs and activities for students, organized by the university’s Castellani Art Museum (CAM), in partnership with the Office of Campus Activities and the Astronomy Club.

Castellani Art Museum Celebrates Black History Month with Pioneering Exhibitions and Discussions

This February, the Castellani Art Museum will present an array of enriching programs in honor of Black History Month. These events are dedicated to highlighting the artistic contributions of African-American artists and exploring the experiences of the BIPOC community in the art world.
