Niagara University and Partners Highlight Special Olympics Course at National Conference
A team from Niagara University and their partners from People, Inc. and Think College presented at the State of the Art conference in Syracuse, N.Y., on Oct. 22, 2025. During their session, the team discussed how the university’s Special Olympics Coaching and Games Management course has set the stage for providing postsecondary education opportunities to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Paige Blatchford Selected as 2025 Merani Scholar
Incoming College of Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management freshman Paige Blatchford has been selected as this year’s recipient of the prestigious Merani Scholarship, a four-year, $30,000 scholarship that includes three paid rotating internships with Merani Hotel Group.

Two Niagara University Students Receive Scholarships from Club Management Association of America
Two Niagara University students were recognized for their commitment to the club industry with the prestigious Joe Perdue Scholarship, which is awarded annually by The Club Foundation of the Club Management Association of America.

Special Olympians Compete at Niagara University
Nearly 300 Special Olympians and their families came to Niagara University’s Kiernan Recreation Center on May 3 to participate in the Special Olympics New York’s Western Regional Basketball Tournament. The event began with an opening ceremony at 9:30 a.m. and concluded with team and skills awards.
