Niagara University Receives $1 Million in Federal Funding to Create Nursing Center for Innovation and Learning

Niagara University has received a $1 million federal grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration that will fund the renovation of a campus building to create an innovative hub for students in the university’s College of Nursing. The funding was secured by U.S. Senator Charles Schumer.

Niagara University Receives New York State Biodefense Award to Develop Novel Anti-Viral Therapy

Niagara University has been selected to receive a grant from the New York State Biodefense Commercialization Fund. The award of nearly $261,500 will be used to formulate a general anti-viral therapeutic using CholestosomeTM technology, a molecule delivery system developed at Niagara by Dr. Mary McCourt, professor of chemistry.

Niagara University Awarded $100,000 U.S. National Science Foundation Award

Niagara University professors Dr. Maritza Branker, associate professor of mathematics, and Dr. Caitlin Riegel, assistant professor of education, have been awarded a $100,000 grant from the U.S. National Science Foundation’s Robert Noyce Scholarship Program to expand STEM education pathways for secondary teachers in high-need school districts.
