Dr. Cassandra Marnocha Receives Grant from NASA to Explore Motility as a Key Biosignature for Extraterrestrial Life

In the search for extraterrestrial life in the universe, biosignatures, which indicate or suggest the presence of a biological process indicative of life, are critical determinants. However, much of what we know about biosignatures is informed by our current understanding of life on Earth.

The Suspension Bridge is one of the displays featured at the Niagara Falls Underground Railroad Heritage Center.

Dr. Regine Chung, assistant professor of clinical mental health counseling at Niagara University, was recognized with the Student Research Award by the Association for Play Therapy during its annual international conference in Atlanta, Ga., Oct. 15-20, 2024. Dr. Chung received the honor for her study of the substantive impact of Child-Centered Play Therapy on the social-emotional development and behavioral challenges of autistic children.

Dr. Bridget Niland Named to Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame 2024 Class

Dr. Bridget Niland, dean of Niagara University’s College of Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management, will be inducted into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame on Tuesday, Nov. 12, during a ceremony at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, 153 Franklin Street Buffalo, N.Y.,14202. She is one of 12 members of the 2024 class.

Niagara Undergraduate Students Present Research at American Chemical Society’s Fall Meeting

Ten Niagara University students presented their undergraduate research alongside graduate students, post-doctoral and professional chemists at the American Chemical Society’s fall 2024 meeting in Denver, Colo., Aug. 18-22. In addition to their poster presentations, the students were able to network with scientists from around the world who have similar research interests, talk to schools at the graduate school fair, participate in professional development seminars, and expand their scientific knowledge by attending presentations and talking to vendors at the expo.
