Dr. Derron Hilts Publishes Co-authored Paper Examining Effect of Student-to-School-Counselor Ratios on Student Achievement

Dr. Derron Hilts, assistant professor of education at Niagara University, and his colleagues, Dr. Yanhong Liu, associate professor in the School of Education at Syracuse University, and Dr. Xiuyan Guo, a psychometrician at Pearson VUE, recently published a paper entitled, “An investigation of student outcomes based on student-to-school counselor ratios” in the inaugural issue of the peer-reviewed journal Counseling Scholarship & Practice in Educational Communities.

Niagara University Celebrates Professional Accomplishments and Outstanding Service at Annual President’s Dinner

Niagara University honored seven individuals for their outstanding leadership and dedication to improving the lives of others at its 2024 President’s Dinner, Oct. 29, 2024, at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino. Proceeds from the President's Dinner benefit Niagara University's scholarship programs. This year's event raised nearly $235,000 toward student scholarship assistance.

Dr. Regine Chung Receives Student Research Award at Association for Play Therapy Annual Conference

Dr. Regine Chung, assistant professor of clinical mental health counseling at Niagara University, was recognized with the Student Research Award by the Association for Play Therapy during its annual international conference in Atlanta, Ga., Oct. 15-20, 2024. Dr. Chung received the honor for her study of the substantive impact of Child-Centered Play Therapy on the social-emotional development and behavioral challenges of autistic children.
