Dr. Bridget Niland Named to Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame 2024 Class

Dr. Bridget Niland, dean of Niagara University’s College of Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management, will be inducted into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame on Tuesday, Nov. 12, during a ceremony at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, 153 Franklin Street Buffalo, N.Y.,14202. She is one of 12 members of the 2024 class.

Dr. Talia Zajac Discusses “Noble Ladies: Between East and West” on CEU Podcast

Dr. Talia Zajac, assistant professor of religious studies at Niagara University, presented her research on “Noble Ladies: Between East and West,” as a guest on a recent podcast produced by Central European University. The podcast is part of a series of interviews covering central Europe in the medieval period for the Medieval Central Europe Research Network and CEU Medieval Studies.

Niagara Undergraduate Students Present Research at American Chemical Society’s Fall Meeting

Ten Niagara University students presented their undergraduate research alongside graduate students, post-doctoral and professional chemists at the American Chemical Society’s fall 2024 meeting in Denver, Colo., Aug. 18-22. In addition to their poster presentations, the students were able to network with scientists from around the world who have similar research interests, talk to schools at the graduate school fair, participate in professional development seminars, and expand their scientific knowledge by attending presentations and talking to vendors at the expo.

Dr. Jenifer Willson

Dr. Jenifer Willson Named 2024 Woman of Distinction

Dr. Jenifer Willson, assistant professor in the clinical mental health counseling program at Niagara University, was named a “Woman of Distinction” on May 17, 2024, for her critical work in educating mental health counseling professionals. She was one of nine women who were honored for their extraordinary contributions to the community by New York State Assemblymember Monica Wallace.

Dr. Talia Harmon, chair and professor of criminology and criminal justice; Dr. David Taylor, associate professor of criminology and criminal justice; Dr. Todd Schoepflin, associate professor of sociology; and Niagara University alumni Chelsea Henning, ’18, M.S.’23, and Dr. Diana L. Falco, ’01, M.S.’02, co-authored an article in Criminal Justice Studies.
