Niagara University’s Holzschuh College of Business Administration Hosts Cybersecurity Expert

As a college student, Patrick Byrne didn’t take advantage of the extracurricular opportunities he had to gain valuable experience in his field of accounting and to connect with professionals in the industry. He made up for lost time after graduation, however, by finding his niche—cybersecurity—and focusing on professional development through conferences and networking. Today, he is chief information security officer at Evans Bank and a Buffalo Business First “30 under 30” honoree.

The Rev. James J. Maher, C.M., Honored for Lasting Impact to Niagara Falls Community

The Rev. James J. Maher, C.M., president of Niagara University, received Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center’s Nancy Gara Spirit Award at the Premier, the hospital’s annual black-tie event, on Jan. 20, 2024. The award honors the late Gara, a respected banking executive and former board member of NFMMC widely admired for her enduring optimism and steadfast commitment to community service.

Diverse Cultures Showcased During Inaugural Gala at Niagara University

Niagara University hosted its inaugural Cultural Gala on Dec. 7, 2023, on the fourth floor of Glynn Hall. The event, a collaborative effort of the Vincentian Center for Justice, the Intercultural Engagement Center, the Asian Student Union, the Student Government Association, and International Relations, was an opportunity for the university community to recognize and celebrate the different cultures represented on campus.
