More than 100 business students explored career pathways and opportunities in the food and consumer packaged goods industry during a recent visit by Tudor Cisloiu, Eastern US district director of team sales for Kellanova, a leading company in global snacking, international cereal and noodles, plant-based foods, and North American frozen breakfast.

Two Niagara University Alumni Honored as Leaders of Color

Joanne Rickard Israel, general manager at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, and Darius Myles, president and CEO of DMyles Inc., were honored by Buffalo Business First as among the “Power 100 Business Leaders of Color” in recognition of the way they foster creativity and inclusion in their organizations, act as role models for future generations, and recognize that diverse viewpoints breed success.

Niagara University Names Seven to Board of Trustees

Niagara University recently elected seven new members to its Board of Trustees: The Rev. Kevin Creagh, C.M. Ed.D., senior vice president for mission integration at Catholic Health, Long Island; Jessica Enstice, an educator and active community volunteer; the Rev. Patrick Flanagan, C.M., Ph.D., associate professor and chair of the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at St. John’s University; Michael Harrington, partner at Duane Morris LLP; Joanne Israel, general manager of Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino; Kevin Kreczko, vice president daydreamer | customer experience for Bass Pro Shops; and Dr. Eileen O’Brien-Scannell, president of Buffalo Peace House.

Niagara University Honors Scott Bieler and the Vincentian Community at Annual President’s Dinner

Niagara University celebrated its students and honored distinguished individuals who embody Niagara’s mission within their communities during the 2025 President’s Dinner on Nov. 5, 2025. Scott Bieler, president and CEO of West Herr Automotive Group and The Scott Bieler Family Foundation, received the St. Vincent de Paul Award in recognition of his outstanding support of NU and its students, and the Vincentian Community was honored with the Ozanam Medal in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the Congregation of the Mission.

During their session, the team discussed how the university’s Special Olympics Coaching and Games Management course has set the stage for providing postsecondary education opportunities to students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
