For the second consecutive year, students in Dr. Rolanda Ward’s macro social work in organizations course and first-year students in Dr. Yonghong Tong’s Vincentian social justice course collaborated to create promotional videos and social action plans for local community organizations. They presented their work during a social media advocacy mini-conference on Dec. 10.
The students partnered with NFHA Community Centers, No Menthol Buffalo, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Healthier Niagara Falls, Niagara Pride, and MENTOR NY, first researching the organization before developing short educational videos on critical social justice topics and designing innovative technology-based solutions that address some of those key issues.
