Josh Halpern, CEO of Big Chicken, addressed nearly 300 Niagara University students, faculty, and staff during a Rally in Gally on Oct. 22, 2024. The event was the relaunch of an annual event sponsored by the Holzschuh College of Business Administration that brings together students, faculty, and others to highlight current business issues.

Major General Vincent Boles Returns to Alma Mater to Share Lessons in Leadership

Maj. Gen. Vincent E. Boles, ’76, returned to his alma mater on Oct. 3 to discuss the lessons he learned leading and working with troops in significant times and critical missions over his distinguished 33-year career in the Army. His presentation, “Leadership: It’s Not About Motivation,” was this year’s Peggy and John Day University Honors Lecture and featured in the university’s October Speaker Series.

Speakers across the retail food and service sectors will share their insights on being agile and adaptable at the 2024 Niagara University Food Industry Center of Excellence Summit, Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Hyatt Regency Buffalo, 2 Fountain Plaza, Buffalo, N.Y. Registration begins at 9 a.m., with lunch at noon and a cocktail reception at 4 p.m.

Dr. Shawn Daly Travels to Zambia to Assist Farmers Association Improve Sustainability

For the past couple of years, Dr. Shawn Daly, director of student global experience and professor of marketing and international business at Niagara University, has traveled to Africa to assist farmers and entrepreneurs expand and manage their businesses as a volunteer with Farmer to Farmer, a USAID-funded program that provides technical assistance to farmers, farm groups, agribusinesses, and other agriculture sector institutions in developing and transitional countries to promote sustainable improvements in food security and agricultural processing, production, and marketing.
