Vincentian Heritage Sustained Through Vincentian Mission Institute

The voice of St. Vincent de Paul can be “heard” in classrooms, hallways, and common areas throughout the Niagara University campus on artwork featuring some of his most popular quotations. The installations were the capstone project undertaken by Niagara’s cohort in the Vincentian Mission Institute, an 18-month program sponsored by Niagara, St. John’s, and DePaul universities that seeks to prepare lay senior leadership to support the distinctive Vincentian and Catholic mission and identity of their institutions.

Religious Scholar to Lead Film Screening and Discussion on Race, Religion, and Justice at Niagara University

Niagara University’s Ostapenko Center for Race, Equity, & Mission is hosting a film screening and discussion on race, religion, and justice featuring Dr. Jamal-Dominque Hopkins, associate professor of Christian scriptures at Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary. Dr. Hopkins will show two short films and lead an iconographic analysis of the movies during the event, which takes place Feb. 29 at 5:30 p.m. in Dunleavy Hall, Room 127. It is free and open to the public.

Niagara University Students Learn About the Plight of Migrants During Vincentian Immersion Program

On a cold and windy Tuesday evening in January, five students from Niagara University served chicken, cauliflower, salad, bread, cookies, and muffins to migrants and refugees at Holy Family Refugee Center, located just a few steps from the Mexican border in El Paso, Texas.

Niagara University Accounting Students Offering Free Tax Preparation Help

Accounting students from Niagara University’s Holzschuh College of Business Administration and members of its Accounting Society and Beta Alpha Psi will again provide members of the Niagara Falls community free tax preparation assistance through the Internal Revenue Service’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, which offers free tax help for low to moderate income families, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and those with limited English proficiency.
