Niagara University was well-represented during the 2025 Western New York Service Learning Coalition Summit on Nov. 21, 2025, at the University at Buffalo.
Rhonda Bivins-Talley, executive director of Niagara University’s Levesque Institute for Civic Engagement, moderated a panel featuring the College of Nursing’s Dr. Christine Nelson-Tuttle, associate professor, and Kristina Sinsabaugh, faculty fellow. The focus of the panel was “Integrating Service Learning to Create Healthier Communities and a Health Career Pipeline.” The panelists shared the ways service learning is integrated throughout the nursing curriculum, why it’s central to students’ development as healthcare professionals, and its impact on community health outcomes.
In addition, Isaiah Jones, a senior integrative management and pre-law student, was part of a panel of students who shared their service-learning experiences.
